What belongs on a payslip
A payslip is the employee's record of how a month's pay was worked out. At minimum it names the employer and the employee, states the period, lists what was earned and what was taken off, and shows the net amount paid. Banks, landlords and embassies all ask for them, which is why they need to look like a document rather than a note.
The usual parts in Bangladesh
- Basic salary — usually 50–60% of the total package
- House rent allowance — commonly 50% of basic
- Medical, transport and food allowances
- Festival bonus in the months it falls
- Deductions: provident fund, income tax deducted at source, advances, absence
How to use the generator
- Fill in the employer and employee details once — they are kept in this browser for next month.
- Set the pay period and add or remove earning and deduction lines as needed.
- Press Print / Save as PDF. The form disappears and only the slip is printed.
Net pay in words
Accounts departments write the amount in words so a figure cannot be altered after signing. The slip does it automatically using the South Asian scale — lakh and crore — so 48,500 reads "Forty-eight thousand five hundred only".
Keeping records
- Everything stays in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, which matters for salary data.
- Save each month's PDF with the month in the file name; employees often need six months at once for a visa or a loan.
- This is a document generator, not payroll software. It does not calculate tax — work that out separately and enter the amount.
Frequently asked questions
What should a salary slip include?
The employer and employee details, the pay period, each earning and deduction with its amount, the gross and net pay, and usually the net amount written in words.
Is my salary data uploaded?
No. The slip is built in your browser and saved only in this browser’s own storage, so nothing reaches a server.
Does it calculate income tax?
No. Tax depends on the employee’s yearly income, investments and rebates. Work out the monthly deduction separately and enter it as a line.
