Text to Speech

Paste anything you would rather listen to than read. Your device’s own voices do the speaking, so nothing is uploaded and it works without an account.

How it works

Every modern browser can speak, using the voices already installed on the device. This page hands your text to that engine sentence by sentence. Nothing is uploaded, there is no API key and no limit on how much you listen to — and on most systems it keeps working offline.

What it is good for

How to use it

  1. Paste your text and pick a voice. The list is whatever your device has installed.
  2. Adjust the speed. Most people settle around 1.2× once they are used to it.
  3. Press Read it. The sentence being spoken is highlighted as it goes.

Why there is no download button

The browser speaks through the system audio output and gives no file back, so there is nothing to save. A recorded MP3 needs a cloud voice service, which would mean uploading your text. If you need a file, record the system audio, or use the PDF to Audio tool for documents.

Frequently asked questions

Can I download the speech as an MP3?

Not from the browser. The speech engine plays through your speakers and returns no file. Recording the system audio is the practical way to keep a copy.

Why are there no Bangla voices?

Because none are installed on the device. Add them under your system’s text-to-speech settings — Android and Windows both offer Bangla — and they appear in the list here.

Is my text sent anywhere?

No. The speech is produced by your own device, so the text never leaves your browser.
